2015 “Wow! This has been an AMAZING year” I have loved being a student at Pt England School. The reason why I love Pt England is because it has such nice teachers and also students. 2015 has been a memory that I will never forget. We have had lots of fun activities this year and fun trips too & I am going to miss the year 8’s next year. This year I have felt Happy at times and at other times I am sad. Whenever I play with my friends I get sad because we might not be in the same class next year & also the year after. The year has been cool and fun cause our lovely team 5 teachers have planned fun activities for us,  even when we are naughty we always get a second chance but sometimes we don’t get that second chance. The thing I found most satisfying this year was getting to meet the lovely year 8’s and also getting to meet the new teachers in team 5 like,  Miss Peato,  Mr Wiseman & Ms Hockley. They have been really encouraging to us year 7’s for next year,  they

The past few weeks Room 2 Numeracy have been focusing on finishing off our Think boards and also our other maths work. I love doing Think boards because I really get to solve the question by myself and I love asking other students in my class room about how to solve it or some other questions I could work on but the main thing I love is decorating it because I love making things colorful. Google Expedition Today we are lucky to have an expert from the Google to come over and share with us a project made out of cardboard. As Mrs Tele’a was sharing with us about what was going to happen,  I was just thinking about what it was going to feel like,  how does it work and also What is it for.. My answer for the first question : Q-1 : What is going to happen? I think the answer for this question is that,  he is going to tell us all about it and then we get to try it . The answer for the second question : Q-2 : How does it work? I think you have to put the cardboard thingy over your eyes and then just watch something inside it or maybe a 3D thing but I have no clue what’s going to happen. & my answer for the last question : Q-3 : What is it : I think it’s just a project google made for kids and also adults that love watching those kind of 3D movies but instead they could put this amazing project on and watch stuff in space or in the woods,  I have no

This is an amazing book. After lunch today we were back into our Literacy classes and Mr Wiseman told us to do silent reading so I ran off to my desk and grabbed my book and guess what it was this book. This book if you don't know it is on the very top of this blog post. The reason why I love this book is that it's about a little girl called Missy & Missy's class is putting on a play. Missy wants to be the star! But Miss doesn't get a big part in the play. She doesn't even get a speaking part. As the play went on one of the main characters were stuck and this very character did not speak that much and he was really shy so Missy was thinking of an idea to change it from being silent to being very loud. Missy plan was to sow the crowd her dance moves,  as she was showing her dance moves the crowd started cheering for her but her school mates were just like um mm "what is Missy doing" As Missy finished off with a twirl the boy that was shy was not shy any

Hello Again, do you remember when I said that I am going to make another presentation about the word theme, well here it is.  I hope you like it!

The past few weeks Mr Wiseman's literacy class have been focusing of how to Find the theme of a text. As you are watching this presentation you might be wondering What is a theme of a text? Well I have told you all the information in this presentation. On the last slide of this presentation it says that I had to make my own presentation and teach what theme is to the little kids. It has been awesome making a presentation about theme,  I can't wait to show you my presentation :)

I just love doing these kind of Maths work because not only that I like to decorate it but I also like to solve it and getting it to be the right answer and also showing Miss Clark and my other class mates what I can do. I hope you enjoy my Week 4 , Term 4 Think board.

This week we have been learning how to focus on finding the evidence in the text to support of answers. I have enjoyed working with Mr Wiseman because he has taught me a lot of things I have not known before. I hope you enjoy this!

The day I lost my mums watch. My mum and I love hanging out together. One sunny day my mum and I decided to go out to Sylvia Park to buy her a new watch. As we were driving I saw a brand new jewelry shop so I said “Mum look over there” ” and my mum got angry she thought it was like a car that was going to crash her. When she turned around and looked at the Jewelry shop she was amazed so she turned and parked the car. Finally we got into the shop. When I opened my eyes all I could see were gold  jewelry and diamonds.  My mum then saw a $16,000 dollar watch that she wanted so she asked the lady “Hi, can I please have this one” and the lady said sure. The lady then grabbed the watch and gave it to my mum. I was saying to my mum “Are you sure you want to buy that one” and my mum said “Yes”. She then brought the watch and we left the shop. As we went out the door my mum started to put the watch on her hand and she made me jealous but I didn't care it was only a watch anyways.

This Term we have been learning about Survivor's. It has been really cool learning about Super hero's. This week we have been focusing on Superman and how he ADAPTED to him now. I hope you enjoy this presentation about SSUUPPPEERRMMAAAANNN!!!

How to prevent yourself from getting sick. Introduction - Hello , I am going to be talking about how you could prevent yourself from getting sick . The past few weeks Room 1 is working on some ways to prevent yourself from getting sick , we are also working on our Statement , Explanation and also Evidence or Example. Hope You Enjoy !! Class One - One of the easiest ways of staying healthy is eating a balanced range of food. This means eating from the 5 food groups with a focus on fruits and vegetables. If you do that then your body will receive all the nutrients it needs to be in the best condition to fight off invading germs. Group One - One of the best ways to prevent yourself from getting sick is to not share your food or drinks. This means not to share food or drink that has already been eaten or drunk by someone else because you are just spreading your germs . If you do this then you will stop the germs from spreading and it will stop your family and friends from getting

Hello! This is a presentation for Inquiry that our lovely Team 5 teachers have made for us students. It is about some Charity's and how we could share our money. Do you remember when we were doing a Save presentation , well yeah its just like that one we have to choose 2 charity's to write about and then we have to choose 2 charity's we would share our money with. This week at Tech we have been focusing on how to play the keys G , Em , C & D on a Guitar and also a keyboard :) It took some of us quite a while and some of us already knew them. I am doing this short paragraph because I have nothing else to do and also because I love blogging :) Its really sad that we are leaving Music and I think we are going to Hard Materials but hopefully we just have a good times wherever we are. We have also been focusing on "How can we be Financially Responsible" It has been cool working on Trade & Enterpri$e :-)  haha , I love working on Trade & Enterpri$e because we can learn how to spend our money wisely and sensibly. What are some Responsible / Irresponsible ways in which we use money?  Answer : Responsible Ways , Some responsible ways to use your money is to Spend it wisely like , If your mum & dad need some money for like the petrol you should give it to them and they might pay you back but if they don't you just need to know that you have done something nice to someone :-) Irresponsible Ways , Some Irresponsible ways to use your money is like , spending your money on 10 packets of lollies or fizzy drinks or instead of giving your money to a friend

R E F L E C T I O N W R I T I N G Wow, I had the best Term Ever! HI my name is May. I am going to be telling yous 3 of my favourite highlights of Term 2, Hope you enjoy :) This term has been a lot of fun. Why Pigs are PINK In the year of 1950 before humans brought meat there was a little crew of Brown Pigs, who lived in Glen Innes. Their Big Dream was to be on live TV and be a Superstar on the Stage. They went to a place at Glen Innes called Te Oro. They found a dancing studio where they could dance and dance and dance, but they had a small problem, Their problem was that the owner of the Dance Studio said that this studio is allowed pink Pigs but they were brown pigs, they felt pretty sad so they went back home. The next morning one of the brown Pigs named Grouchy woke them up early in the morning because he found out that the famous Superstar Pink was coming to perform at Te Oro. Grouchy woke them all up and said “Hey guys that's enough sleeping in and lets go I have a brilliant idea”. Grouchy took them to a man that is also going to the Perform at Te Oro. He told them that if they wanted to perform they had to be pink pigs to be in the concert so they had a plan  . . .

Why Dogs Sniff Butts? In the year of 1842, before humans killed dogs, there was a gang of 32 Dogs that lived in China. They were feeling really hot so 23 dogs went to the beach, the rest went to the pools to cool of. They were having some much fun at the beach. They had a beach party, they turned up the music and made a fire, they took of their butts and jumped in the water. When they came out of the water there butts had been taken by some other dogs. So they went wandering off looking for their butts. Until this huge wave came crashing down on them and they got swept away into the ocean So did the dogs that took their butts. When they got out of the water they didn't realise that the huge wave took them to another place and do you know what that place was, it was “FIJI” They started walking and a group of girls and boys came dancing in front of them and it was pretty much like a welcoming so then they started Twerking . The last few weeks Mr Wiseman's literacy has been working on a Graphic Organiser. First when Mr Wiseman told us I was thinking "I have no idea what a Graphic Organiser is" but then Mr Wiseman explained it to us and I finally knew what it was. In our Reading groups we all had a book to read and the write down our notes onto our Graphic Organiser. As you can see on my Graphic Organiser that in each box it has a title on the top and the titles say "Before,  During & After" before means you have to like have a quick guess about what you think the book is all about. During is that you have to list down the words you don't understand and then write in a sentence what it means. During means you have to list down some stuff while you are reading. The last one is After, after is some stuff you have like learnt from reading the book and yeah just giving lots of information that you know from the book. This Afternoon at Maths class, we got straight inside maths class and then we had to sit down and Miss Clark was teaching us about Perimeter & Area. Today for Zeal Zone, Team 5 began " Tinkering, Tools & Toys." Our class spent time brainstorming ways that we could make Pt. England a better place to be. I am in a group of 5 and their names are Tyli, Gia, Koula and I. Our group name is Minions. My group has decided that we are going to change the colour of the school uniform. So far we have chosen the colour Purple and Blue. The girls have skirts and the boys have shorts and girls and boys have T - Shirts.That's what the Minions have so far and we can't wait for Pt. England to know.

This afternoon we have been learning and researching about "INQUIRY" I have been learning about "The world in info graphics Technology. We had to choose a book and right 5 facts about the book that we read and then post it on our blog. Future Aspiration Day Yesterday morning we had some special visitors coming to have a little korero with us year 7 & 8's. We had to go to our home class's and then come back to the Street at 9.30. When we got split into our Home Class's I was walking to my desk and wondering what are they going to look like? , what are they going to talk about? , have I seen them before? Yay! We are playing our first game of Netball. I was so , so excited when I walked home to get ready for our first game. When I got home I had a shower then got dressed and I asked my dad "Can you drop me off to the AMI Netball Courts" and he said "Ok get in the car." While we were driving I thinking of us winning or losing but then I said to myself "I know we will win just have faith in yourself" so I just waiting until we started.
